CLAUSON SWEEPS NIGHT #2 OF WESTERN WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS

PEORIA, AZ – NOVEMBER 19, 2013… It
was a perfect night for Noblesville, Indiana’s Bryan Clauson
at the second round of the “46th Annual Sands Chevrolet
Western World Championships presented by the Racers Advantage
Store.” The USAC National Champion made a statement to the
competition by leading all 30-laps to score his fifth USAC
SouthWest Sprint Car victory of the campaign. Tracy Hines, Jon
Stanbrough, Chad Boespflug, and Kevin Thomas Jr. followed
Clauson to the checkered flags.
Driving the Tony Stewart Racing #20
Chevy Performance / Curb Records Beast, Bryan Clauson also won
his Racers Advantage Store Heat Race and Racers Advantage
Store Qualifier. Starting on the pole position and sweeping
the night’s action, Clauson is the high point driver heading
to Saturday’s finale.
Tracy Hines of Wilkinson, Indiana
had to settle for second at Canyon Speedway Park. Piloting the
Pollock Racing #21 Greenwell Auto Body / Bates Commodities
Inc. Maxim, the former USAC Champion ran second in his heat
race and claimed third in his qualifying race.
Avon, Indiana’s Jon Stanbrough raced
from sixth to claim third in the 30-lap main event. Wheeling
the Shon Deskins Racing #20S Performance Plus / Bell Racing
Spike, the veteran driver won the program’s third Racers
Advantage Store Heat Race and scored third in his qualifier.
“The Hanford Hornet” Chad Boespflug
took fourth at the checkered flags. Racing Jack Hodges’ #74X
Napa Auto Parts / Mesilla Valley Transportation Maxim, the
former SCRA 360 Champion was fourth in his heat race and won
the night’s third Racers Advantage Store Qualifying Race.
Kevin Thomas Jr. of Cullman, Alabama
raced to fifth in the main event after starting eleventh.
Piloting Jimmy Norman’s #97 Colcord-Norman Motorsports /
Deskins Racing Engines Maxim, Thomas claimed fifth in his heat
race and ran third in his qualifier.
Phoenix, Arizona’s Jacob Hawkins
earned his first “Hard Charger / Best Passing Job” honors with
a twelfth place finish after starting twenty-third. Making his
first start in Mark Morin’s #28 Surprise Shop / DTM
Motorsports Maxim, Hawkins ran sixth in his heat race and
placed seventh in his qualifying race.
Casey Shuman of Rattlesnake Bend,
Arizona won the night’s first Racers Advantage Store Heat
Race. Driving the Jesse Hockett Racing #77 Lucas Oil / Rod End
Supply Maxim, the veteran driver claimed second in his
qualifier and placed sixth in the 30-lap main event.
Farmington, New Mexico’s Jason Grady
took the victory in the second Racers Advantage Store
Qualifying Race. Racing his #45 RSS Industries / J&B Bailing
RSS, the NMMRA feature winner placed fifth in his heat race
and scored sixteenth in the main event.
