R.J. Johnson leads the Southwest series into the full points race while Matt Mitchell is the current leader in the West Coast series which eyes this event as a special "non-points" race. Charles Davis Jr. of Buckeye, Ariz. wheeled the Massey Motorsports RSS Industries/MP Environmental Services RSS/Ott to victory in last Saturday night's 30-lap USAC Southwest Sprint race at Central Arizona Raceway in Casa Grande. Matt Rossi took the runner-up spot ahead of R.J. Johnson, Josh Pelkey and Mike Martin. Davis' victory halted Johnson's five-race winning streak in the Southwest series.
